Indies Estate

Zebra-print ottomans in one house, cobalt-blue headboards in another, crisp white four-posters in a third: Indies Estate is three villas, each dressed around its own far-flung theme, set together in a walled tropical garden in Sanur. Batavia, Antigua and Tanzania face a shared lawn and a long blue pool, so a large family or group of friends can take the whole estate and still give everyone a house of their own.

Stepping-stone paths wind through frangipani, bougainvillea and clipped borders to the centre of it all, where loungers and blue umbrellas line the pool and a thatched gazebo and pergola offer shade by day and a candlelit setting for dinner after dark. Inside, each villa has its own living room and dining space, from a round table ringed with velvet chairs to a long white table in a bright open-plan room, and a fully equipped kitchen serves the estate. Bedrooms are light and airy, with garden-facing windows, characterful fabrics and their own bathrooms.

Breakfast is included each morning, housekeeping comes daily and return airport transfers are part of the stay, with lunch and dinner available on request. Sanur’s easy-going beach path is an easy walk away, past cafés and local warungs, and the town’s calm reef-protected shoreline makes it one of Bali’s gentlest bases for families with young children.
