Villa Jumah

Four-poster beds swathed in white netting, red sofas heaped with jewel-toned cushions and a turquoise pool ringed by timber decking give Villa Jumah a warm, unmistakably Balinese character. Set in central Seminyak, this four-bedroom villa is laid out as a cluster of tile-roofed pavilions in a deep tropical garden, so it feels sheltered and green even though the town’s restaurants and boutiques are only minutes away.

The nine-metre pool is the centre of the day, with loungers and a parasol on the deck and a cushioned daybed right at the water’s edge. Around it, lawns, stepping-stone paths and a thatched gazebo invite a slow afternoon, while a long wooden table under an open-sided pavilion is made for breakfasts and lazy lunches in the garden. Indoors, the main living room has a television and Balinese artwork, and a separate upstairs lounge with woven walls and purple cushions makes a quiet corner for reading.

All four bedrooms have king beds and their own bathrooms, several of them open to the sky with garden showers or a deep stone bathtub. A team of three looks after housekeeping and security, and meals can be prepared at the villa on request. From the gate, cafés, shops and a supermarket are a short walk away, the beach is around ten minutes on foot, and the dining strips of Oberoi and Petitenget are a quick drive.
