Villa Kupu Kupu

Villa Kupu Kupu is a relaxed, family-friendly Bali home on a quiet lane in central Seminyak, around two hundred metres from the area’s cafés and a stroll from Eat Street. Step through the gate and you find a leafy, walled compound of thatched roofs, teak decking and a curved blue pool, with a shaded gazebo beside the water that is just right for an afternoon nap.

The heart of the villa is a big open-plan living and dining room beneath a soaring alang-alang roof, with low sofas, a long dining table and wide glass doors onto the pool so parents can watch the swimmers without moving. A practical, well-equipped kitchen sits alongside. For movie nights there is a separate cinema lounge with a projector and surround sound, and outside a covered deck with a dining table and charcoal barbecue makes easy work of evening meals.

Families are well catered for: as well as the main pool there is a separate shallow pool for little ones and a jacuzzi for the adults. Two generous master suites have four-poster beds, garden access and bathrooms with freestanding tubs and outdoor showers, and two cosier double rooms complete the picture, each with its own bathroom and smart TV. Breakfast is included, and Seminyak Square, its restaurants and beach clubs are all within easy reach.
