Villa Layla Cabana feels like a bohemian beach hideaway set down in the green lanes of Pererenan. Shaggy thatched roofs, sun-bleached timber decks and curving whitewashed walls give it a castaway charm, while inside every comfort is taken care of, from a gym and sauna to seven calm, earthy bedrooms.

Outdoors, an organically shaped pool winds between the thatched cabanas, with a smaller round pool for cooling off and a broad wooden deck lined with loungers and umbrellas. Shaded gazebos with bean bags and cushioned seating make easy spots for an afternoon book or a sundowner, and an open-sided thatched lounge looks out over the tropical garden. Indoors, an enclosed living room with a huge L-shaped sofa and big TV, a second lounge and a grand round dining table offer plenty of space for the whole group, with a fully equipped kitchen alongside.

All seven bedrooms have king beds and their own bathrooms, finished with patterned tiles, stone basins and rain showers, and some add a freestanding tub or balconies with rice-field views. A team of seven provides daily housekeeping, a personal guest assistant and round-the-clock security, with a chef, massages and drivers available on request. Pererenan Beach, its surf and its sunset cafes are around ten minutes’ drive away.
