Villa Mewangi

A slim turquoise lap pool runs the length of a timber deck, hemmed in by a wall of banana leaves and bird-of-paradise, with floor-to-ceiling glass on the other side. Villa Mewangi is a newly finished two-bedroom house in Sanur, built for couples, two friends or a small family who want a private pool and a calm, polished base without paying for space they won’t use.

Inside, a peaked timber ceiling lifts the open-plan living room, where a deep white sofa faces a large TV and woven rattan pendants hang over the dining table. The kitchen is properly equipped, with plenty of bench space, an oven, microwave and full-size fridge, so breakfasts and simple dinners at home are easy. Both bedrooms have king beds dressed in crisp linen, warm wood joinery and their own bathrooms, finished in pale stone with rain showers and planted light wells that bring a semi-outdoor feel.

Behind a carved timber door and garden walls, the courtyard feels secluded, with a hammock tucked among the greenery for lazy afternoons. Sanur’s gentle beaches, seaside promenade, cafés and markets are a short drive away, and the airport is close enough to make this an easy first or last night in Bali, or a relaxed base for day trips to the islands.
