Villa Samayra

Villa Samayra sits right on the cliff edge at Chaweng Noi, close to the Lad Koh viewpoint, with granite boulders tumbling to the sea below and nothing but open water and passing boats in front of you. It is private and wonderfully peaceful, with the sound of the waves drifting up at night, yet the beaches, restaurants and boutiques of Chaweng are just a short drive away. Guests come back again and again for the view, and it is easy to see why.

Outside, a long infinity pool runs along the clifftop with its edge seeming to spill into the Gulf, lined with sun loungers and big parasols, while timber decks step down towards the rocks with more loungers and shady seating. A broad, semi-shaded terrace links the pool to the house, and upstairs a wide balcony gives an even higher view of the bay. Indoors, the living room opens through tall glass doors onto the water, the dining room sits beneath woven lanterns with sea views on three sides, and the warm timber kitchen has a long island. A pool table, a reading nook and a fully equipped home gym round things out.

Five en-suite bedrooms face the sea through floor-to-ceiling glass, with rich timber floors, TVs and generous wardrobes. Three have king beds, one has twin beds that join as a king, and a bunk room with two sets of double bunks will thrill younger guests. The master bathroom has a sculpted terrazzo bathtub. A friendly team of three looks after the villa, with housekeeping included and a chef, massage, laundry and childcare available on request. The villa can also be booked with three or four bedrooms for smaller groups.
