Villa Siam

Villa Siam is a walled tropical hideaway in the heart of Seminyak, where frangipani trees lean over a glittering pool and the noise of the street simply melts away. Step outside the gate and you are a short stroll from the restaurants, boutiques and bars of Seminyak’s famous eat street, with the beach roughly ten minutes away on foot, yet inside it feels like a private garden retreat.

The pool, around nine metres long, sits at the centre of everything, edged by a timber deck with loungers and a little settee at one end for morning tea. The living pavilion, under a traditional thatched roof hung with a chandelier, is air-conditioned and opens through glass doors onto the water, with comfortable sofas, a television and a dining table for six beside a well-equipped kitchen. A raised gazebo lounge with bright red cushions adds a breezy spot for sundowners above the garden, and the whole place glows after dark when the plants and pool are lit.

The three bedrooms suit a family or friends travelling together. The master suite opens onto the pool and has a marble bathroom with a jacuzzi tub set before a stone Buddha, plus indoor and outdoor rain showers, while the other rooms also enjoy soaking tubs and open-air showers. Breakfast is cooked fresh each morning, and a villa manager, butler service and 24-hour security mean every detail is looked after.
