Villa Yasa Canggu

Villa Yasa is one of those Canggu finds that feels hidden in plain sight. A short garden path leads from the lane through banana palms and frangipani to a tucked-away courtyard, where a turquoise pool sits beneath a living wall of ferns and a floating timber staircase climbs to the upper floor. Outside the gate, the cafés, boutiques and surf breaks of central Canggu are within easy walking distance, yet inside it stays remarkably calm.

The house is built around the water. Sunloungers line a dark timber deck at the pool’s edge, and the open-plan living room, with its vaulted ceiling, deep sofas and a sculptural timber coffee table, opens fully to the courtyard so the breeze moves straight through. Beside it, a dining table for six and a fully equipped kitchen make long, lazy breakfasts and home-cooked dinners easy, while the pool catches full morning sun and turns shady by the afternoon.

Three king-bedded rooms suit a family or three couples. One opens straight onto the pool through a wall of glass; the upper suite is wrapped in windows looking over the treetops, with a double vanity beside the bed; and the bathrooms lean into the tropics, including a soaking tub and outdoor-style showers framed by greenery. Daily housekeeping keeps things effortless, and Batu Bolong Beach is only around five minutes away.
